I’m starting a new job this Wednesday and I’m just...I guess I’m feeling worried at the moment.Though I feel better these days,it’s probably because I feel “safe” with my daily routine and I find comfort in being at home.
But now that I’m going back to work...I’m just afraid that I’ll feel anxious at work and that I won’t know how to deal with it.I’m worried that the progress I’ve made will go down the drain.
Has anyone dealt with anxiety at work before?

I can definitely relate to "new job" anxiety. Typically, and I can't speak for everyone, my anxiety seems to be minimal when I'm at work. I think it has to do with the fact that my mind is focusing on my tasks. My job is all contract based so every 1-2 years I'm transitioning to a new office in a new town. It can be extremely nerve wracking, but, I always try my best to focus on showing a good first impression. It can be hard to keep your mind off the nerves. What I find helps, is if I start to feel the anxiety come on, I take a walk around outside on break, or walk around the office, even just get up to grab some water. Not sure if your line of work would have that as an option, but hopefully this helps in some way. Good luck and congrats on the new job!!!
Hi Eric, thank you so much!!I have to admit that I’m pretty nervous since I’ve been unemployed for close to 4 months..and I haven’t really been out much except to exercise or do grocery shopping and my social interaction was limited to mainly family and close friends.Thank you for the tip though!I’ll remember to keep that in mind
