A pressure on the right side of the head
Hello! I sometimes feel pressure in my head and I think it’s due to allergies/sinus. If it feels like that 24/7 then you may wanna get it looked into. Do you have any other symptoms?
None so far. It is just a slight pressure but it happened for a couple of days consecutively and it makes me worried. It will not happen all the time anyway. But I will be relieved whenever i flex my leg left and right or do a quick massage on my shoulder and neck. Do you think this is in connection with my vessels or muscles in my shoulder or neck?
Hi im from philippines too but currently in australia.yeah i have experienced head pressure not only on the right side but all over..
So far, mine is only on the right part of the head. I haven't visited my doctor yet.
Hi, I'm a 26 years old female from Hong Kong. I had pressure 24/7 only in my right side of head (near the temple and ear area) for nearly 2 months. My symptom has improved so much and I really want to share with you my experience.
I've been reading many related blogs about head pressure before but seems there is no a clear solution.
I've been to a general practitioner and doctor told me not to worry so much as I only have this single symptom (no dizziness, no vomiting etc.). He told me to relax more. However, after the visit, I still feel very worried as I couldn't feel my symptom improved. I visited another general practitioner after 1 week as I also felt that my right ear is not as sensitive as my left ear. My right ear feels like something was stuck in there. I suspect it's an ear infection so I went to another general practitioner and she prescribed me a whole course of antibiotics. Unfortunately, after completing the full course of antibiotics, not a single moment I feel my right ear nor my head tension better. So, I went to a ENT specialist to treat what I believed to be my ear infection. When I was waiting to go into the ENT specialist, I was very anxious about the whole situation or procedure that I will face when I go in. My anxiety made my head pressure worsen, and even brought my ear to buzz. After I went in, the specialist looked thoroughly into my ears, and found out my ear drum was actually very clear and there is no infection or such thing!!! I was out of shock. I became even more worried because if it wasn't because of my ears, what disease would cause such a strange head and ear pressure. The specialist released me, and I went home very frustrated.
My head pressure remained as it was day by day.. and for almost 1.5 months. I was paying a lot of attention to the pressure (since I'm worried and couldn't figure out what caused it) and I actually felt the pressure more intense the more focus I put on it. But the sad part is, I couldn't stop my mind thinking about the pressure! I feel myself going into health anxiety and I was so frustrated.
I read many blogs and articles online and I started to think if it's just a health anxiety which brought me all these strange pressure. I shared my sad feelings and worries with my family and my boyfriend. They are very supportive of me and tell me that I have to stay strong mentally. And that I need try my best to distract myself from thinking about this head tension. Because the more I think about it, the more I notice it is there.
I started listening to some relaxation music like classical music. My dad was in favor to help me massage my shoulders, neck and my ear areas every night before I sleep. Also, he would apply some heat mat on my painful areas so it became relieved. Surprisingly after around 1 week, my head pressure started improving. I keep performing this habit and I am happy that my head pressure is 99% recovered.
I also went to a chinese medicine clinic to try a different approach to heal my head pressure. The chinese doctor heard my pulse and said my symptom is related to the meridian of my liver. He prescribed some herbal medicines to drink and suggested me to take below precautions:
- not to eat beef, goose and seafood
- sleep early (preferably before 11p.m. as that is the time my liver starts to rest)
- not to think too much and have peace in mind
- drink plenty of water
I take all of his advises, and together with the massages, peaceful and positive thinking and encouragement from my loved ones, I started to walk out of anxiety and thus the head pressure disappeared gradually.
Try not to stay focused about your head pressure. Try practicing meditation. Do try listening to classical music and keep having your mind busy with other stuff.
I couldn't believe anxiety can cause such a great "power" to my body and make me felt so unwell with my head pressure. So try to be optimistic and have faith in yourself that you will recover!~ Stay positive is most important. Don't over-think about your health
