It's time to give Anxiety a piece of your mind.

We all know that anxiety is a bully. It's very good at scaring us, putting ideas in our heads that we have some dreadful illness, most likely terminal. It can keep us housebound, interfere with our work and relationships. But for all its threats, it never manages to inflict death, physical disability or insanity on any of us. It's all bark and no bite though its bark can be very disturbing. The more we get to know anxiety the more we realise its power is limited. And like all true bullies if we stand up to it we can see it off.

Maybe it's time to tell anxiety what we think of it, give it a good talking to. Hold a conversation with it and give it a piece of our mind. Maybe it would help to get things off our chest and show we're not taking it lying down any more.

Tell anxiety that it's not as smart as it thinks and you know how to send it packing.

Tell it you're standing up to it from now on so its days are numbered.

Tell it to scram, you're not putting up with it any more because you know all about its nasty little tricks.

Tell it you're stronger and braver than it is and you're going to crush it like the rotten apple it is.

Tell it to clear off because you've had enough of its spiteful ways - so get lost you miserable b*****d!

Get really angry with it, the angrier the better, get everything off your chest that's been building up for so long.

Swear at it, shout at it, call it names. Not out loud in public of course or people will think you really are ready for the laughing academy.

So why not give anxiety a good telling off? It's high time it knows what you think of it.

This is so true and spot on! We have go get angry at anxiety in big ways and refuse to bow to it anymore.

I did that today actually, while driving on the interstate. Little dizzy feelings kept popping in my head then there’s me yelling “oh hell no! That’s enough!” It stopped 😉
