Thanks for an excellent question. There is no simple answer.

Since each body is somewhat chemically unique, each person can experience anxiety symptoms in a unique way. With that in mind,when your nervous system is triggered by stress / anxiety one of the symptoms may be the feeling you describe.

Not sure about arms but since having anxiety I get pins and needles in my feet, legs and head all the time, even my lips tingle

I get tingling in my arms, hands, legs and face when I have bad anxiety or panic attacks.

Hi wilburbudgirl. While I have not found any medical research to back this up I am convinced that at least I experience tingling in my fingertips forearms and cheeks. This may be followed by severe muscular cramps in those areas. Both of these symptoms may be precursors to a panic/anxiety attack or a panic/anxiety attack themselves. (Note: I am not a medical professional. This is my opinion based on the patterns I have experienced.)

Thank you to everyone that has replied! Mine could be related to tight muscles as I don’t get panic attacks that often. I did just get one tho and I have a horrible headache because of it now

Hey Willburbudgirl,

Yes anxiety can cause tingling in numerous places of the body. I was just dozing off and felt a tingling across my lips. Scary but that’s what wonderful anxiety does lol
