Does anyone else have sinus tachycardia? Could it possibly be related to anxiety?

Carrie,

I don't even know what that is? Did your doctor mention it or have you been on google too much? Can you explain what that is? Maybe someone in this venue does have it but doesn't recognize the name.

I went to the er and that's what they told me I have. They said it's just a fast beating of the heart causes by something unknown. They are sending me to a cardiologist.

Sinus tachycardia means a heartbeat over 100 beats per minute coming from the sinus node. Do you have underlying health conditions? A resting heart rate should be 60-100. Sinus rhythm from the sinus node is a GOOD thing! The tachycardia means over 100 beats per minute.

Anxiety is the only health condition I have.

Ok, did the medical staff say it was related some way to your anxiety? Did you ask? They would know probably much more than many of us. So, what did they say?

They keep saying they don't know what caused it. Thats why they are sending me to a cardiologist.

Ok, good. So you may hate your anxiety but you're not assuming that the anxiety is causing your heart issues.

I hope your appointment with a cardiologist is soon for your peace of mind. :)

I have had two episodes of subventricular tachycardia. Have seen a cardiologist and was told that it is not dangerous - more of a nuisance than anything else. I am on a pill to control it.

The good thing is that it's not dangerous and I keep telling myself that!
