My condolences! I know how you feel, sometimes these feelings won't pass but try your best to not think about it.. it will get better with time.

A coworker of mine was swept away by a mudslide and I had intrusive memories of it for a while. You have been traumatized. Don't run away from the feelings, they will keep resurfacing and lead to worse anxiety if you do that. Take the time to process your feelings in a safe place maybe the bathtub maybe you're room with the door locked and music on. Set a timer if you feel you may lose control, spend fifteen minutes feeling, expressing and therefore processing the negative emotions and trauma as needed maybe every day for a while or every few days, your body will let you know. Take time for grieving and healing and don't be afraid of the process. Learn activities you can use to release emotions, google it. Distracting and shovimg under leads to generalized anxiety and phantom stress depression and anxiety seeping out for decades.
