Want to come off zopiclone

Can anyone give me any advice how to come off zopiclone...I also think I have tardive dyskinesia..got pyschiatrist next week.. appreciate any advice thanks

Hi. I was on zopiclone 7.5 for more than ten years.I just stopped taking it every day then took it every second day ,i increased time between doses and eventually came off it after 2 months of titrating down by reducing doses and increasing time between doses.The only side effect i had was extreme insomnia for about 2/3 months.It has now settled and im starting to be able to sleep almost at will.I have severe M.E and fibromyalgia.once the rebound sleeplessness passed i seem to have got off them almost scott free.occassionally if i have 2 sleepless nights in a row, literally no sleep or naps i will take one and i find they work really well in helping me fall aseep.?that is my main problem ,also i have sleep reversal.?im awake all night and sleep about 5 hours in late afternoon of the following day.?ive been lifelong insomniac even before i contracted M.E 20 years ago.i think its important not to just stop i found as the days increased between doses that it seemed to keep withdrawal symptoms at bay.I also take opiate painkillers so perhaps that helped me avoid withdrawal symptoms.You should discuss it wth yr doctor though as everyone is differet and you need to come off your med with medical supervision.it really is important to have your ur g. P support .and guidance. Best of luck.
