Woke up to heart fluttering repeatedly

so while I was sleeping I can feel my heart flutter repeatedly it really scared me so I got up and got a drink of water and that seems to help? Idk but has anyone else felt this sinsation?

Hi Jamescrider2, the heart has more chance to flutter when dehydrated. Not surprising that drinking some water helped. After sleeping, the body needs hydration to function properly.

Yes I have had heart flutters all my life. My heart fells like it skips beats , a pause a skip and a total PANIC ATTACK then a min or so back to noraml beat.. I had my doctor check it and had to wear a 24 hour monitor and they said it was a thing that happens to a lot of people but most cannot feel it.

When I was in my 20's I actually found a book on this and it was helpful. Me being a total hypochondriac found out the authors phone # because he had the same things happening to him and he was really very helpful explaning this to me. When it happens to you remember to relax, breath and do not panic . It will go away faster. Coffee and cigaretts ans stress can make tje palpitations last longer .

Yea I got scared for a moment bc I haven't felt that sinsation since my panic attack but im ok now I calm down and I'm breathing in and out thanks guys
