Good Afternoon. Has anyone ever heard of the amygdala? So if I'm understanding correctly, the amygdala is stuck on in our brains and this is why we're constantly dealing with fears, panic, anxiety, PTSD, depression etc. We have to reprogram it in order to bring it back down. Seriously?

Hi Tanae, I'm just learning about this thru my therapist. You are correct. The precortex is the "Watch Tower", the Thalmus, our "emotions" and the Amygdala, "the Smoke Detector"

We seem to have a faulty smoke detector that goes off all the time. All these years of therapy and I'm still learning something new. thanks for sharing Tanae, glad you understand it. :)

Wow Thanks. I'm wondering how to fix it.

I'm still trying to understand it myself, once I do, I'll share it with the forum.

Sounds like we need a re-wiring. x

If there is a fix for it, I wonder why a therapist or our phyciatrist wouldn't talk about it openly?
