I don't think it's an actual cause for depression even though I suffer myself , I have not been on fb now been nearly two weeks , and I can honestly say I don't miss it .who knows ?? i may do in time but it's really great not waking up.to.umpteen messages the stupid chain messages you get 😣 now they do my head in , so my answer to your question is it depends where your mind set is at the time but I'm happy not being on it for now .

Do you think some people are addicted to it?

well the first thing I used to do when I woke was go Straight on to fb .I found I was spending many many of my hours just being on there to see who was doing what .then I started to look outside the box .who posts they have a cold , or that they are in A&E ? or that someone has just had an argument ? I don't see the reason behind these posts .I think some people use it if they are maybe lonely and I get that but then I had many many fb friends that all they did was brag which used to wind me up .the only people that need know what's going on in my life is family .Yes I am on this site but it's a support group that's totally different .I also think it's a case of if your not on fb then your not in with the whole media crowd or your seen as to be an out cast .I have not even been on fb now must be 3 weeks and I don't miss it .I have other ways of keeping up to date .

I totally agree with you. Photos of dinners etc are not appealing at all. What people get up to doesn't interest me either.

exactly.life has been so less stressful too as I suffer anxiety .my support worker noticed that I was always going on about fb and how it winded me up .

in reply to Millie09

Same here, I feel better for removing it. I made time for other things by leaving it.

I came off Fb a year ago and can't find enough good reasons to go back on yet. There were too many things bothering me about it. Up to you may be good to have a break from it x

in reply to Nicki1984

I have been off it for over a year now, I don't feel the need to join again. I just didn't get it at all.

There is a way to permanently delete it so that you can't reactivate it again.
