My anxiety of social situations and other things has been so bad over the past year but the past 2 or so months I've been feeling an improvement! Even thinking about going back to work! I can attempt to talk to strangers now and I don't avoid social situations half as much as I did. Overall just feeling good about my anxiety. However now I'm really noticing physical symptoms of my anxiety especially at night. Teeth clenching and grinding has gotten worse than ever!! Shoulder and neck tension is constant and so painful. A lot of it happens in my sleep so ill wake up in agony with my neck and jaw. Is there anything I can do about this?! My brain/anxious mind is feeling a little better but now this tension and teeth grinding is always a constant reminder of my anxiety 🙁🙁

Physical symptoms of anxiety.
These are my biggest problems with Anxiety, the physical or somatic symptoms.some come and go while others linger longer.
Right now for me it's pins and needles in the extremities and numb patches . I miss the days when all I felt was anxious and on edge had heart palpitations and headaches. Anxiety and depression of course go hand-in-hand. Sometimes I'll joke with my wife that one of the kids broke into our room at night and beat the living snot out of me with a hammer ! Waking up with aches and pains and muscle tension is not fun. Truthfully for me I'm at the point where I'm going to try different meds and see where that Lands me. Yesterday was my first night trying Cymbalta. After two or three weeks I'll report back to the group.
Thank you for your reply. Are you talking different anxiety medications? I'm on citalopram and it does say side effects can be teeth grinding. Just seems annoying that yes, it may be making my anxiety more manageable but then I have to put up with jaw pain? 🙁
Maybe that's just what I'll have to do though I guess! Thank you again and I wish you well.
