This is common as your mind and life are focused on losing your father. Was his death sudden or foreseen?

You are so young and to lose a parent is a devastating event for which you need to give yourself a break. Cry, talk, remember, cry some more. Always have someone around to lean on if you need it.

Take care of yourself and eat right, exercise, and get out and have some relaxing events to look forward to.

Your body is over-stressed. You need to vent. Your fear of death comes your loss of control. You will get your strength back if you give yourself time to recover and when you give yourself time to talk it out. You need a release.

Your focus can change if you work to change your thinking. Life throws us into giant waves and we get pushed around by them. Instead of fighting it, relax and roll with the wave. You will soon swim to safety and feel the sun upon your face.

Your dad is safe. You are safe. Live well, because you have a long life ahead of you and it is waiting for you to enjoy it.

Yes, it is completely normal. I'm so sorry for your loss. Your world has been turned upside down by death and so it seems a very prominent threat to you at the moment. Have you thought about bereavement counseling, they could help you to process your feelings?

I also agree that it is perfectly normal to constantly think about death in the aftermath of losing your dad. Even if you felt it was becoming an obsession then that's nothing to worry about, just accept it as a temporary frame of mind for the moment with the accent on 'accepting' it. This is all just your way of grieving, an important process and the obsession will pass in time.
