Anyone out there told that they are agoraphobic? If so, what are some of the things that make you afriad to leave your home? I would actually like to make friends with some of you! Maybe we could help each other out? Who knows?! Xo
Agoraphobia : Anyone out there told that... - Anxiety Support
Agoraphobia
Hi, I have agoraphobia and it's scarey. I get worked up when I know I have to leave the house. I get dizzy and am filled with anxiety. I use a walking stick for support. I still feel as if i'm drunk and am glad when I get home. How do you feel?
I know that feeling so well. Fighting it now. It hits from time to time and just thinking about it or reading about it almost glues me to my chair. Yet I was at a BBQ last night!! At times, for me, it will just disappear and I get on with life. Then it will crop up out of the blue and I feel as though I am dying. Terrible, terrible thing.. Do you find it more difficult to handle when tired. I do. There are times when I think I am totally messed up as I get so that I am even afraid to go to bed.
Hi xo_haili and BERNEY, six years ago, I developed Agoraphobia and so my name was born. As if anxiety wasn't bad enough, now I was bound to the 4 walls of my home. At first it wasn't too bad, after all there were so many things to keep me busy within the house and most of all I enjoyed watching the Lifetime movies. What few friends I had left, dropped off like flies. No one but another agoraphobic could possibly understand what it is like. Even my own sister, recommended going out for lunch and having a girl's day shopping. Are you kidding?? 1 year, 2 years 3 and on and on and there I am peeking out the window and watching time go by. Therapy in home, finding a doctor in home until I finally realized I was going no where. Changes had to be made and so I started little by little. I am far from being cured of my fears but at least I can get out when absolutely necessary. Still haven't done lunch . To both of you, better times are coming. Step by step, therapy involved. Wish you well x
