Last Wednesday around 7 pm I took Ativan (huge panic attack) I felt great until yesterday evening around 5pm... Is it possible the Ativan had continuing calming effects?

Hi Beth, if you area taking Ativan as needed, then the answer is no. One tablet would not last that long in your system. x

Ok, I researched it and it said 72hrs for one dose... I'm not for sure what's happened to me the last 24hrs! I was doing so good ( not myself) but I believed I was on my way now I feel deflated :(

Beth, 72hrs sounds about right for one dose. If you went 6 days w/o another dose, it goes into a high/low level which would bring back your symptoms again maybe even a little worse. I'm not the right one to talk about benzos (as needed). I've never done, it was always prescribed on a daily basis to keep the dose level. I hope someone else sees this so they could better advise you. I am so sorry you are having a difficult time. I know how you've been struggling both with the anxiety as well as taking medication. xx

Thank you! If I understand your response correctly my current situation could be from the Ativan?

I know it's hard to understand what I'm trying to say. Your levels of Ativan aren't consistent in your body. So one minute your body is relaxed and the next minute it's asking for more calmness. I truly believe that when a person has chronic anxiety (especially at the beginning) they need a level dose of the med daily. But that is totally up to your doctor. You need to give him a call and tell him what is going on. That's just my input.

Hello I'm also on Ativan and it's only affective for a few hours, maybe you were distracted and just doing a good job of managing.
