Having a panic attack and I am trying to calm down, but I am unsure if I should go to the ER. I am experiencing tinkling and weakness sensation in my body. I just feel different. I can usually talk myself out of them...but not this time.
Having one too, we can stress together, I've tried everything and it's not Woking, guess will have to wait it out. Xx
Okay....let's get this together. I hate going to the emergency room just so they can send me home.
U will be ok, I had a huge panic attack this morning, took all day before it eventually went away, now in bed and started again, so am trying to keep distracted
Hi ladyhm, that's a good strategy, "wait it out". Don't fight it.
Don't let that "anxiety bully" win. You are stronger than that.
ladhm are you doing okay?
Kimberly, What you are experiencing is the adrenaline rushing through your
body. The best thing to do is to pace up and down, go up some steps and down
again. what you are trying to do is to use up that extra adrenaline by moving
your muscles. When you get tired out, find a comfortable quiet dark spot and
sit back (don't lie down, you are too fidgety right now). Listen to some quiet
music and deep breathe or use meditation. If that doesn't work, let out your
emotions if you feel like crying, sometimes that helps. If you have medication
you can take, try that. This will pass before you even get admitted to the ER.
As a former paramedic, I know, the ER would take your vitals and sedate you.
Hopefully you can handle this at home. You will be okay. Maybe it's over already.
Thank you so much Agora! No one has ever explained this to me before. Its so scary.
I know, I truly know how scary it can make you feel. Being in the ER
sometimes is not the best place to be with anxiety. It is bright, noisy
and you are stuck on that gurney. Your home is your safe spot to be.
I hope the panic is coming down some. Don't rush it, it will leave on
it's own when it sees you won't give into it. My thoughts are with you
Feel better. xx
Are you ok now?
No...and I have company so I am trying to calm down and not be scared in front of them. I am so embarrassed.
Don't be embarrassed , tell them how u feel, they will ge able to help focus ur mind on nicer things. X
Ahh you'll be fine this happened to me earlier today in front of company I had to sit and feel anxious without it being apparent it's awful but you'll be ok you can do it it will pass they always do 😊
Awww sweetie I know how it goes too which is why I mostly avoid company which isn't good either! I'm thinkin about u hope u r doing better!
I appreciate that! I am doing better after my company left I was able to calm down and do my breathing. I always apologize to my husband when I have a panic attack...I feel like I am a burden because I don't like to travel, always have to be very close to the hospital, and avoid company. Guess that explains why I don't have any friends. This site is a life saver.
I'll be your friend because I was that way.
Awww big hugs sweetie 💛 I'm at my brothers we r about to color eggs. I'm all nervous. I went to the store with my mom and had so much anxiety! And I messed up at work ugh!!!
I went to the supermarket today and had to leave I felt all dream like and thought I was going to collapse and die and was convinced I have something wrong with me thinking I'm going to just drop down dead
I hate that feeling
Hate that feeling too 😥 I'm out to dinner and don't feel real
I appreciate everyone helping me. I have never used a support group before...I just kept things to myself. My family doesn't even know (only my husband). I am starting to calm down and keep my mind focused on other things. I am really thankful for each of you.
