I taken propanolol for 3days now I take 4 a day there 10mg so I take 40mg there to stop my palpitations and stop my heart racing but my heart is not slowling down it's always in the 90s and over, forever feel like I'm not getting enough oxygen and feel like I'm going to die

You know, if your heart rate is staying in the 90s right now, that's actually not that bad. An average pulse rate is at 88 beats per minute. My Mom works at The Heart Center of one of the best hospitals in my region. She has what they call Mitral Valve Prolapse, so I am very well schooled in the general knowledge of tachychardias and such. Alot of it is just from experience lol. My pulse was sitting at 120 bpm the other day at the doctor office, but I didn't panic over that because I knew I was having anxiety about being there. And they didn't think anything to it for the same reason. Your pulse changes all the time. From my own experience, I have THOUGHT it was faster than it actually was. And if you're caught in the pattern of thinking about it all the time, of course you're going to notice it and naturally that will rise it. When we exercise, it can get up to 170bpm and higher! But that is normal and there is nothing wrong with that. If your pulse is resting at 96, it doesn't mean that it always is resting at that and honestly, that is just not that bad. I almost bet that if you were to get your mind off of it, this would calm down. My Mom is on the same medications. You just need to learn how to calm down dear. That's all.

And I agree with luvtohelp...if the tablets haven't helped at all, what would it hurt to call the doctor back and get his opinion?

Hello thanks for your replies I don't wanna ring doctors beacuse there getting sick of me. My doctor told me my hearts suppose to be in the 70s and when I check it it's in the 90s constantly that's why I panic. Keep getting stabbing pains in my actual heart

I can't see if the other bit of the message I wrote send. But I constantly pay attention to my heart that's why maybe it's beating fast, waiting for cardioligst to write to me to send me a appointment hope you are all well Thankyou for your replies xx
