Yes. I am on it now. Brand name Wellbutrin XL is the best BUTTTTTTT the most expensive antidepressant ($3, 200) like the epiduo pen(that went from$100 to $1000). You must have insurance with this medication.

If you can get insurance to cover the Brand name, you will feel better, lose a little weight and get up instead of being in bed all day. I have tried all Wellbutrin's line of medications from generic to brand regular to SR. Generic does not work well at all because the makers do not use the same brand name ingredients or chemicals(not sure the name) & levels needed to be effective. Plus the FDA took the generic by Teva off the shelfs for a few years because it was not safe & didn't work. I get a swollen tongue, throat and cannot breath as well(to the ER).

For me I had suicidal ideation, major depression & mood changes(not bi-polar: if you are, you will need an additional mood medication with this one). Honestly, I have tried everything and this is the best hands down, hence the price hike. And I poop out from meds in a month or usually can't take the major side effects.

Oh you will have a dry mouth and sweat a lot all of sudden w/o no warning, which is making my entry back into the world scary. It does not calm anxiety but it definitely gets rid of serious depression, eat disorder 50% and up your activity level 75% only if you take it everyday; Which, is my biggest challenge.

Once I feel better, I stop taking medication and the price is crazy.. But if it's expensive, that means it works, it's popular among certain circles, but not widely known to be a great treatment that Psyhc doctors recommend often.

Hi ReneeRocs, Wow, I didn't realize that Wellbutrin XL was that expensive. You're right in that not many doctors prescribe it. I find it interesting that the generic form of this drug is that different then the name brand. I'm so glad they found a medication that works well for you. As for the dry cotton mouth and sudden heat sweats, that's pretty common with a lot of the psychotropic drugs, After all if a med is going to work, you can expect it to produce some side effects. It is well worth it if it reduces your anxiety or depression. Continued good luck Renee. x

Renee, I am past that part of anxiety now. I have been one who dealt with severe anxiety and fear for many years and won my battle over it. I feel truly blessed and can only wish you and others the success I achieved. My best to you. x
