My hobby...

I haven't ever mentioned this before but I'm quite into the planets and stars and I got a telescope for my Christmas...I was out with it last night and managed to take this picture through the lens with my phone...thought I would share it.

I do indeed...I'm hoping to get as many planets as I can on my camera so I shall upload as many as I can get...it's a long drawn out process. But worth it for the right pictures.

Wow, have you been watching Stargazing live. I really enjoy it. I've loved watching all about the Northern Lights. That is a beautiful photo xx

Hi Winter

Yeah I did see stargazing love I watch it every year. It was really good this time round xx

love the picture Ashley, love anything to do with the stars & space, we have an observatory in kielder forest about 30miles from us plus the sky is so clear there at night, would love to go and observe the planets, great hobby. xx

Hi Jasper

How lucky are you to have one that close...I guess you live out with the city? So you'll be able to see a whole lot more xx

in reply to

We have an observatory about 2 miles away from my house! Never been though! X

Wow that's amazing Ashley, I'd like to know more about the stars. Well you be looking out for the northern lights tonight?

I was going too but I read on my Aurora app that the solar flare hasn't quite reached us the way they thought it was going too...but you never know xx

Oh I just love all that. How lucky are you to have a good telescope.Hope you don't have too many city lights where you live.

We have brilliant skies here in NZ for stargazing. Mmm, maybe I should treat myself.

Thanks so much for posting. Look forward to some more. Julie xx

in reply to Jeffju

Hi Julie

Yeah I live outside the city so it's quite good for seeing the sky where I am.

I'm hoping to get a few more in the next week or so, so I shall post them

Xx

Hi,

What a lovely picture, congratulations on finding a hobby, looking at the stars, takes you away from yourself and your problems. Looking forward to the next ones. What do they say, look for rainbows when it's raining, and stars when it's dark.
