I was on venlafaxine for several years and to start with it was fine; after a while I started getting side-effects (as it's quite a while ago I can't remember them all). My GP told me to just stop taking them and after 2 weeks he would prescribe something else. I did as I was told and had horrendous withdrawal effects, my anxiety went off the scale - so if/when you come off them and if your doctor tells you to do it in one go, please refer him to all the research I found on the problems of withdrawal in the various medical journal articles I consulted. I will look them up so I can add the references to this post.

I was on 75mg of quietepine for a few years and the benefits where very good tho on the other hand the weight gain side effect has been terrible, I'm now on lustral, lyrica and propananol and I'm still struggling to get my condition under control.

I take 300mg quetiapine three times daily together with venlafaxine 75mg three times daily and a whole host of other things such as depskote, nitrazepam and mirtazapine. It's taken ten years for them to sort this medication out but right now I prefer to swallow pills than live in the world I inhabited ten/fifteen years ago.
