I used to drink before bed... then after awhile I drank all the time... self medicating. The right medication has made all the difference for me. I haven't had a drink in 29 yrs. There was a time when 29 minutes without a drink was nearly impossible... I went through a 30 treatment program inpatient and then I went to AA meetings either in person or online. Alcohol. can become a nightmare. I wouldn't recommend it. Try headphones with some relaxation recordings. Take good care.

Same as Tamra

Please listen , addiction can become another problem & believe me you don't need that on top of anxiety , helps short term sometimes , but not in the long run

Just check its ok to drink while taking the meds & also as drink if to much is a depressant , so the work the meds are trying to do , drink then can counter act that , if you no what I mean , so keep that in mind

I hope you soon feel better

I wouldn't use alcoholic drinks to easy anxiety. Have you never got really drunk and woke up the next day and had flash backs of stupid things you may have said or done? Which results in anxiety...

I would agree with workhorse. Although it does work, it's self-medicating, and can spiral into some reliance, it happened to a friend of mine.

Take some exercise in the day if you can, maybe walking? And make sure you're tired when you get to bed.. Listen to a relaxation cd maybe.

And remember even if you're not sleeping, just by lying there you're getting some rest.

Not what you're looking for?
