panic disorder

I’m in that period where I have to try different medicine to try to help. I’ve been on Buspar for two weeks now, it helps my panic attacks from spiraling but I still have pretty bad anxiety. I’m so desperate, I feel like this will last forever. I need success stories that this will go away one day with the right meds. I feel so alone.

There are millions of success stories out there, and you are NOT alone, I’ve gone through periods of increased anxiety and panic attacks followed by years of nothing. They always happen during times of stress and difficulty in my life. This time I’m not taking as much of a passive role, it’s time to fix my diet, sleep, and sedentary lifestyle.

I’m currently on buspar as well for 3 days and coincidentally haven’t had a panic spiral since I started. What this medication does is put you in a place to improve your life, if you don’t have a therapist you like you need to find one who uses a modality that clicks with you.

I’m here for you, this community is here for you, you deserve to and will get better.

Thank you so much! This means so much to me. I know I need to get on the right medicine to help with my panic ocd and anxiety. I’m just so impatient when I feel like this. But thank you for being there ♥️ I hope the buspar works for you! It makes me have insomnia and heart palpitations but doesn’t let me spiral which I love, I’m nervous to switch😭

Hang in there with the Buspar! It's not a fast acting drug. I know I responded to you when you first started it. I was on it years ago and it really helped and I've been back on it for about a year and it's helping again. For a while I still needed the occasional Ativan but haven't taken any in a couple months. Talk to your doctor about maybe increasing your dose if need be. Sounds like it's helping you to a degree.

Unfortunately I believe it’s making my anxiety worse though controlling the spiraling. I wake up in panic attacks every morning. It’s never been this bad before

I'm so sorry to hear that! I would call the doctor and let him/her know how you are feeling. When I went back on it this time I was started on a lower dose and then upped to a higher dose after a couple weeks but the higher dose made me feel weird so I went back to the lower one. I've been on 7.5/ bid and for me it's working. Obviously we all metabolize meds differently. If Buspar doesn't work, hopefully something else will. Keep me posted. We know how awful anxiety is...
