So sorry to hear about the recent sleeping problems. If it helps, you aren't alone in this struggle. We're here with you - all the insomniacs of HealthUnlocked!

I know you've probably heard this, but I find it truly does help to eliminate all "blue light" from my device screens up to two hours before I know I'm going to try to sleep. It doesn't always work, but if I need to watch something in order to distract myself or make myself feel tired, I'll set the display mode to warm, or turn on a color filter. This way, My brain isn't all subconsciously excited by the time I lay it down.

Lately I've been nocturnal, it seems; I'm up all night until I finally pass out in the wee hours. Talk about wasting a day, right?

How are you finding the Xanax to work? I hope it's doing its part.

Wishing you the very best.

-B :)

Thank you for your reply and suggestions dear brother. today I will start Esitalopram in the morning. my doctor recommended me Xanax and Esitalopram long time ago, it's helping me. Tell me about yourself. How are you today?

You're very welcome! I think that's the generic for Lexapro, right? If so, I was on that for a long time, and I did find it to be quite helpful. This reminds me of a song by "The Click Five," which has a line: "Now I'm going strong on Lexapro; doctor says I'm doing fine." Haha, this was the reason I identified with, and wanted to try to medication, and it was helpful. I hope it has the same benefits for you! I also take lorazepam on a daily basis, along with the MAOI (anti-depressant) I'm now prescribed. They keep me sane. But, I'm doing okay; I'm coping with things and trying to make each day the best I can. Some are better than others, as you well know. I've been battling with insomnia and most nights I'm wide awake all night and then sleep half the day, which is why I'm only now getting back to you. But, we will see what the rest of it holds ... hopefully good things for all of us.

Take care,

-B

Yes, you are right Lexapro 5mg I am using. And I hate lorazepam type of medicines. Xanax is better I think. I feel comfortable. lorazepam I used around 10 years ago, I felt more anxious and angry. Then my doctor recommended me Xanax.

I’m really glad you found another benzo that works best for you. I’m thinking after being on Xanax for so long my doc wanted to make sure I didn’t have any dependency problems and so he switched me over.

Yes, you are right. I don't have any addiction of Xanax. Because I never overdose. I always use 0.25mg.It's not heavy. Very lite.

In a LOL coincidence, before reading your post, I just (6:00 AM here) saw a news episode in which a doctor said that exercise in the morning helps reduce, if not relieve anxiety, and helps heart health and sleep disturbances. I’m going to try it and perhaps it will help you too.

Hope you feel better.

There's a guy on YOUtube that does sleep hypnosis videos, they help me calm down and yeah xanax helps too ... His name is Michael Sealey and he's certified in hypnosis and no he can't put you under it's called "self hypnosis" but it does help relax me

Hi, Asif

I felt the same way last night I couldn’t go to sleep for nothing. I ended up taking some night medicine because I couldn’t find my anxiety meds. I hope that you get some relief soon for anxiety. 😥

Sorry to hear you’re having troubles. Xanax helps relax your mine to sleep. Have you ever thought about Gabapentin? Heard it helps some people with sleep problems. Widely prescribed for a lot of different things. Hope you get better.

I never use Gabapentin, I used Xanax but not regularly , I use when I feel anxious.

A good doctor can greatly assist sleep and anxiety issues as they are connected. The right combinations of medications and supplements can help one sleep through the night. Check with other health professionals for your specific challenges. Admittedly, there are periods where the brain will wake you for no discernible reason. Some folks need to wind down one, two or more hours before bedtime. Some read from a book while listening to calming music; others pray and read scripture or read about the lives of those helping others. If a person wakes up in the wee hours, taking a warm bath with Epsom salts help. Exercise of course is greatly helpful; I agree! There are many of us with sleep issues; utilizing the right side of the brain is supposed to help with anxiety. Eg painting, drawing,…even the art of having a fine conversation!

All the best.

Hey srry just gettin back 2u, hey some camomile and or lavender ya, boil in pot, transfer to bowl, get a towel put it over the bowl and your head in the sink, bath in and out under towel, get fragrance and fumes into your sinus, focus on pleasant times or things, 5 min at least. Sit and relax eyes closed, trek yourself and realize how fortunate you are. House. Family, friends pets and u can get a peanut butter sandwich outta your frig whenever you like, yes that is a blessing more than most have. Don't dwell or think about what you can't change and get on things you CAN. The anxiety, depression, insecurity are ALL things you can rescind, and even destroy, it takes work on Yourself, but you can do it, in fact ONLY you can do it. Saddle up friend, your about to take back and retain your happiness and good health, but you have to KNOW IT belief is temporary, Knowledge is forever because you can't not know it once you know it. Cheers friend, stop trying and DO IT.
