Hi guys I ain’t been on for a long time as I started to feel loads better for a while but I’ve ended up in a+e this weekend with excruciating pain on my right side going into my right side of my back and in between my shoulders I had a ct scan and it revealed I have multiple gallstones!!! Well almost 19 years ago my beautiful mum went in hospital with gallstones and came out with pancreatic cancer and secondary liver cancer so as you can imagine my health anxiety has gone through the roof and now I’m thinking I have pc instead of gallstones I can’t eat or sleep I’m too scared to eat cuz of the pain everytime I go to the gp they say it’s just gallstones but never give me a blood test to rule out pc I know I’m being silly but I can’t shift this thought in my head anyone else ever suffered with anything similar who can put someone’s mind at rest
Many thanks
Nat

Thank you for sharing. I hope you get well soon. I wonder if it is something genetic since it was both you and your mom. Have you tried the gene kits with the health ideas or whatever? There may be others who have it or a name for increased likelihood and specific advice for that. I don't know. Good luck!
sorry to hear that Nat I can understand the worries you have do you go for regular check ups as my dad made sure I started when it was discovered he had cancer. fingers knees and toes and eyes crossed all is going to be ok.
Hi kenster thanks for the reply I’ve asked for regular checks but my gps said it’s unnecessary they say just cuz my mum had it don’t mean I will so I get fobbed off all the time hope you’re well
My therapist always says " what do you know now" that helps me focus on the present and not let my head take over. So what you know now is you have gallstones.
That’s so true it’s just when you’re on you’re own in ya own head ya mind does overtime don’t it but yeah you’re absolutely right as I know right this minute I have gallstones I’m glad you’re doing ok xx
It’s good she does I’ve done so well with my mental health these last few years now I have gallstone issues it’s brought back many memories of how my mums sad journey started and we lost her and I’m so scared it’s ridiculous
I get it, you need them to go in there and look at things soon so you know what's happening.
My niece had a bad gallbladder and the surgery was scheduled for two months away. I said nope not happening. I encouraged her to make an appointment everytime she had pain and go to the emergency room if it was extreme. It took two weeks for them to see the need to get it out so she could function.
My daughter had pain so bad they took her from the emergency room to surgery. She had 60 gallstones!
Keep talking to us here it may help just having others to talk to. We all know anxiety and fear
It’s like the docs don’t take people seriously when it comes to gallbladder and gallstones they don’t understand the extreme pain it causes I’ve done the same too every time I have chronic pain I go a+e but they give me antibiotics and send me home it’s ridiculous you’re poor niece and daughter 60 stones bless her heart she must of been in absolute pain
My daughter was laying in the waiting room curled up in a ball. I felt so bad for her
My niece was dragging herself to work feeling horrible
You would think they would get sick of seeing you and book the surgery. It costs them money each time you go to the emergency room? I'm in USA so I'm not sure how everything works there.
I’m in the uk nothings getting g done much here at the minute I’ve been 3 times last weekend and still no joy I’ve had to go back to my doctor am for her to refer me to the hospital for surgery makes no sense
Your system confuses me and I'm sure ours confuses you as well.
If it was an emergent case they would certainly take you in I would imagine. Some doctors run by text book simply thinking everyone can handle the same thing the same way.
It would be the same here for something non emergent. The PCP as we call your GP would consult to the surgeon. But, as you read in the case of my niece they finally took her on earlier based on her symptoms
our system even confuses me lol so basically not all our emergencies get admitted into hospital I was like you’re niece doubled up in pain but the er still sent me home with no painkillers xx
Let's hope that you get scheduled soon and this is all taken care of so you can move on. It is totally 3 different scenarios when you look at it so each was treated by acuity maybe?
That’s good that you’re on the waiting list. After a week I managed the pain with Tylenol. The dietitian said I should be on a bland diet for 6 months.
What do they consider a bland diet I eat but very small amounts as I’m afraid I’m going to trigger a flare up so you can’t win can you x was you waiting long for you’re surgery
