I started taking venlafaxine in August of 2021 due to Covid sending my anxiety into overdrive. When I had my yearly physical this past August I told my doctor I wanted to go off the medication so he put me on a tapering schedule with a low dose of buspar to help out. At the beginning of November I was completely off of the Venlafaxine and at the beginning of December I stopped taking the buspar. I have had stomach/digestive issues since the beginning of November. I take Omneprazole for acid reflux but it doesn’t even feel like it’s working. Every time I eat my stomach hurts. Has anyone else had this experience. It’s beginning to affect my mental health and of course making my anxiety move into high gear.

Welcome to the community.
I'm very sorry to read about the stomach issues you are having.
Have you checked with your doctor regarding your stomach? I'm sorry I can't be of more help but I would recommend seeing a medical doctor to be sure everything is ok.
Best of luck

check with your doctor your stomache issues may not be from the meds.
IMHO, these are questions that only a psychiatrist and gastrointestinal physician can resolve, and both in parallel. These are medical questions that require professional advice. I mean you might get sympathy here, and that's find and good, but sympathy is not going to resolve the underlying issues. It seems like members here are saying "time to see the doc." And if you are not satisfied with what either physican says, you can always see another physican and get a second opinion. The fact is that not all physicans are equal in competence. Some are more competent than others. And all physicians have the capacity to make mistakes.
