hello everyone I am new to this platform. I’ve been dealing with anxiety for the last two years. I started with medication and it made my anxiety worse so I’m trying to cope without it. I see Therapist once a week I do meditation. I do the gym I do yoga, I do above, but I can’t stop my anxiety. I physically can’t go outside without my body asking me to go back home. Life has stopped and I don’t know how to deal with this so if you guys have any advice, I would really appreciate it anxiety has taken over .

Welcome SunflowerBeauty. Sorry you're having a rough time right now. Sounds like you're doing a lot of good things for yourself. Deep breathing is always helpful in anxious situations. I've also been told that either putting cold water on your face or taking a cold shower can help kind of shock yourself out of an anxious time. Of course I've not tried that yet because I hate cold showers, lol. If it's not resolving, you may want to talk to your doctor about medications again. There are many and don't necessarily have to be long term. Hopefully you will start feeling better soon. ❤️

Hi SunflowerBeauty and Welcome..

BlueAgave is right in that medication can help break that cycle of fear begets fear.

There are so many different meds out there. Each of us reacts differently to them

however, once the doctor finds the right one for you, it can help open a lot of doors

for your healing.

Meditation and Breathing exercises are my go to each and every day, both morning

and night. The longer you continue this regimen the more powerful your subconscious

mind will get. I also favor self hypnosis which has been very beneficial as well as

long term effects for me. You've taken your first step towards a healing path with

us. Don't give up. It's going to all work out when the time is right and you are ready :) xx

Welcome to the HU group!

I'm sorry SunflowerBeauty you are going through a difficult time with anxiety. But fret not. We are here to listen if you want to vent or get advice on how to cope with anxiety.

Now like BA said you may want to check with your doc about medication. Also I would add some medications take time getting into your system. Which is around 3 months usually. But everyone is different. Also there's this expectation that once you are on medication, everything goes away and all your problems are solved. That is not entirely accurate. Sure, meds can be a helper. But you are still in charge of how you handle your stress and environment in order for your meds to do their job properly. So far it seems you are getting good exercise (better than me. I need to get back to the gym)

Believe me I understand. My life came to a screeching halt about 3yrs ago. I was living my best life and then I was hit by a medical condition. But I was handling it well. Until I was put on medication that didn't help me. And was gaslit by my doctor and then suffered from cannabinoid sickness which didn't help. Cause I had the worse panic attack in my life. Probably should have went to the hospital but I didn't. Anyways that stuck to me like tar. Couldn't shake that fear or memory of that fear out of my head. The medicine wasn't helping & neither was the doctor. I became a agoraphobic again. I lost a bunch of weight. Over a year now I've been crawling my way back into the sunlight again.

Here's what helped me. First I fire my AH of a doc and found a helpful one. Second got my medicine changed for my condition which helped. Thirdly I started reading this book and have been applying it in my life and it has changed for the better. It's called Dare: The New Way to End Anxiety and Stop Panic Attacks by Barry McDonagh. There's also an app which you can get for fear of you buy the book. Even if you don't get the book there's the app. It's about $60 a year. It's like the book but in audio form. Also you don't have to sign up for it, the free version is still useful. I highly recommend it.

I'm getting back out there. Most recently Ive gone to visit my mom in the hospital. Sure that doesn't sound note worthy but when you have panic attacks at the very thought of setting foot in a hospital then that's something. I was able to go twice and was okay 👍🏽

Wishing you healing and love 🫂 ❤️
