Facing a cross-country move

I have struggled with anxiety and panic with some agoraphobia. I have been doing better after an experience in rehab/PHP a couple of years ago. I do have more tools than I did before. This year circumstances have lead our family to decide that we need to leave our current home and move to a different part of the country. While I think the environment in our new home will be better in the long term because some of reasons and stressors that led us to move won’t be present, we are leaving behind a community of friends. I know we can stay in touch, but as far as my anxiety is concerned, I am increasingly scared about being able to support my partner. Having people we know provides me with a kind of backstop… if I am feel poorly again, my partner has people to call for help. In short, I’m feeling like I don’t have the space to not be OK? As someone who avoids intense sensations for fear of panic, all the legitimate sadness and fear surrounding the move feel like they are too much to handle.

I'm so sorry to hear about your husband passing in 2017 and you losing most of your family during the pandemic that is God awful. My condolences to you. Why was your first meeting so bad with your son'swife? What is happening in your son and her relationship that is so bad? Wish I could help more but don't know what's wrong. Wishing you peace and well-being.
