Jury duty anxiety part 2

I just got back from court after being summoned for jury duty.I went downtown and finding parking was stressful. I got lost in a maze of a parking garage that went below ground.

Then I had trouble finding the actual courthouse because there was construction. Luckily there was a big group trying to find the entrance so I followed them.

I went through security and my anxiety was so high.

There was so much waiting and I was bouncing my legs with how much I was anxious. I even cried because I just hated the waiting and wanted to get through this.

I finally got called upstairs and I talked to the court guy crying....I was having a panic attack and I could not breath.

I got dismissed from court because I was honest about how stressed I was.

I was still shaking and had trouble finding the exit of the building.

The next stress was getting my car out of the underground garage.

My hands were still shaking as I drove home. Even now....I am just still not settled from having to go through the stress of jury duty.

PenguinQueen44, with every word of your post, I was putting myself in the same

position. I felt the terror with each step you took. I literally don't know how you did

it. But I can give you a lot of credit for trying as you did.

Please be gentle with yourself tonight. Give yourself some relaxing "me time".

You went above and beyond what would be expected from someone with

severe anxiety. Sending gentle hugs :) xx

You should be so proud of yourself for making it there today. Hands down, you put yourself out there even with your severe anxiety, made it through the added stress of parking and construction, and managed to sit there until called. That is a huge accomplishment for those who have intense anxiety. Most folks probably wouldn't have even tried. You nailed it! Like Agora 1 said, be gentle on yourself and relax this evening.
