Hi You may get more tips
Here are a few for you
You can help and don't have to be an expert etc
Do show support if you can be good if you can get them to open up and not afraid to talk if possible
Some can have some life and lots meds do help a bit or lot but does not take illness away etc
Offer help from friends or family helps
Ask wot help they woukd like
Could be shopping going out
meds helping and reminding
Its important meds are taking and help is or can be important
Planning etc
Set goals very low then low
There will be ups and downs
Try not get others to be judgmental etc or say things get better etc
Living with it and accepting its long term
Try have lots conversations not about the illness and problems etc
Trust is a big issiues as well
A good gp is helpfull and working with them and hopefully no need to see mental health team in long term and gp can be in contact with them
Can be sressfull
Also try not take too much on
If not in place

Shep22, thankyou for those tipsMy friend is on meds and doing well but talks a lot about the recent past and talks of seeing and speaking with aliens and the devil and with Jesus.
I am uncertain whether it's more helpful if I just talk about these episodes in a casual way rather than trying to appeal to the logical side of their brain, if you see what I mean. I'm just not sure how to respond when they talk about these things as if they are totally factual. Or if I should maybe just deflect the conversation onto more everyday matters
