Need Help

Hi there. I've been trying to find a therapist and a psychiatrist lately and I am getting very frustrated because I'm trying to find a Community Mental Health Center that does things on a sliding scale as I'm only working part-time right now. Treatment can be expensive and I really can't afford it right now but I know that I need it. Does anybody else go through this like I am?

My mom used to be a caseworker so I kind of know a little bit. It's hard for those that don't live in a bigger city. Here in my city we have the center for mental health and can see and treat people on a sliding scale.

I think you can try hitting up Universities for mental health services. After all psychiatrists and psychologists have to get their degree some kind of way. They usually do something at the university. Where they will see folks while working on their degree with a professional psychologist or psychiatrist in the room. They do things on a sliding scale.

Also may want to try 211 since you are in the US. United Way can help you find assistance in mental health.
