Is anyone able to accurately describe what Characterizes imposter syndrome? I have a general idea but need verification. Thanks.

My interpretation is feeling like your in a place you shouldn't be. That your don't belong, that you don't deserve to be there.

Thanks, Trent. I wonder if it’s related to low self esteem and or a mental condition.

I think it's low self esteem. I've felt it before.

Definitely low self esteem, I used to feel like it when I was a young woman. Now I am so much older I see it was part of my anxiety & depression.

My understanding is that imposter syndrome is that of someone who has done really well in life, studied hard, has a good job and is more than qualified to do it, but they feel that they are not worthy of it and they feel like an imposter!! Someone who shouldn't be doing what they are doing
