I just recently turned 30 and I am having a lot of anxiety and depression from feeling like I am getting older and being the youngest of 5. That means everyone else is getting older too. I have been dewling on this for almost 2 weeks now and it is affecting sleep. I just want to work on this and get back to being my active self!!! Please help!!!

Hey Troy

How is your dwelling on getting older based. Everyone gets older every day.

Is there more to it?

Worried about my parents getting older and my mom's health. I don't know why I keep thinking about it and dwelling on it but I have also been moving around for the past 2 to almost 3 years now. I loved with my fiance, then we broke up, then moved in with my sister and now I am in New Hampshire helping my aunt and then moving to South Carolina at the end of the month. Feel very overwhelmed and have only been getting like 3-5 hours of sleep for the past 10 days straight

That’s a lot of moving around and would be difficult for anybody. Anyway you can settle in one place and set some goals. Better health, Job, friends , lady.

I use meditation such as mindfulness and others but there are times I need to train my brain that there are some things we just can’t control. I find short phrases , such as “that thought is out of my control” and repeat it multiple times throughout my day and week until it subsides.

Of course everyone is different but for me allowing myself to go there is to hard and things are affected like sleep.

You are so very young. Can you try to stay in the moment by practicing mindfulness. There are so many videos on YouTube about mindfulness.

Thank you!!! 😊

Yes mindfulness definitely helps me. When I get overwhelmed I’m the type who like lists and setting goals.

That helps me to settle my extremely active brain so I can come back to mindfulness.

Hi Troy, I am sorry that this is affecting your life. It sounds to me like some stuff is bringing mortality home to you. I think that this anxiety shows a beautiful thing about you, that you value life. I think that you just need to dial it down to where the anxiety keeps you living life to the fullest and valuing it that way vs shutting down. I love to recommend "Feeling Great" by David Burns. There is also the Feeling Good Podcast.

I wish you peace, hope, and strength. Never lose that bit of anxiety and spice for life. You got this☮️
