Good job we aren't on the Julian Calendar as many are. They have to wait two weeks beyond us Gregorian types! And some little ones only get their pressies on Jan 13th, when the Wise Men come. They get 3 pressies each, and no more!

Good morning midora yes that song of course Chris de burgh mam loved that song and singer, wonder what happend to him just seen Slade Noddy holder and his gang been interviewed they were on about there Xmas record that's timeless, I like Noddy holder he's crazy older but hasn't changed still crazy funny outlook,I didn't see it all but he was saying about bing Crosby and them type Xmas records said what's that all about lol and came up with his crazy rock one screaming it's Christmas 🤩I hope you and yours have a good one me mam and pix will be enjoying a quite Xmas day quick easy cooking in the air fryer this year and just one hectic day with family at my sister's day after boxing day 🤗

My son and I will be taking it slowly as it is his first Christmas with Diabetes, so a learning curve for us both. Quiet couple of days. I must get my Salt Beef into the slow cooker and dive into the big freezer to find the Bagels. Turkey lump can also go into the slow cooker later, then slice and freeze.

Hi cat pixie is hungry soon as opens his eyes were having chicken no point in turkey just 3 of us but mam usually gets a duck for herself too she' said may get beef instead I don't mind a bit of beef even tho I don't usually eat meat I'm partial to bit of beef now n then 😩🤗

Back in the January of 1998 I started a catering job where I stayed for nearly 6 years.
If it doesn't come to anything this lunchtime I wont be heartbroken over it!
Been out earlier on for a walk in the drizzly rain which I enjoyed as I feel it does me good to get out and about even i the rain!

I'm out every day just about walking or something I feel sluggish and miserable in winter if I sit about doing nothing, I'm lazy on morning and night tho🙄if I'm home during day it's DIY, got to do Xmas cards today keep putting it off got some off old nebours down the street family don't do them now 😊

The ornaments are on a small pre-lit white tree. I keep it in the window. I thought he wouldn't be able to get up there but he jumps up via the chair next to the window🙄

My slippers are lined up and ready along with the annual Xmas pjs I wear once a year. I wish I had a real fireplace.
I have a gas fireplace, but I want a house that doesn't have one. I can't find a house in our area without one anymore. It's a real pain.
I'm thinking of putting one in. Is there a problem with it. I want the wall thing on my sunroom
It's just more maintenance and one more thing to repair if something breaks. My son lives in the basement, so it use to get a lot of usage. But when it needed a cleaning a couple of years ago, the tech broke the glass, then didn't know how to turn it back on, nearly burned down the house, overcharged for the repair it didn't need, lied to his boss about me breaking it. It was a nightmare that lasted from September to February. After everything was fixed, we don't use it anymore because I just can't go through that again. I bought an $80 oil heater that works just as well heating the basement (Yay for Home Depot). It lowered my winter electricity by at least $100 dollars a month.
So I don't enjoy fireplaces anymore 😆.
Well on that note hahaha.... I have the space heaters. I think it was more for the ambiance. But seriously who needs it.

I remember the rigamarole you went through with that fireplace. I just like a real one for ambience. I’ve had several and never used them for heat. I’d love one, but then I’d have to buy the wood every year…cha Ching…then cart the wood in. Sometimes I’d use those starter logs instead, but those are cha Ching too. I’d rather use the cha Ching for something else, too. Now I can cast a video of a burning fireplace onto my big tv and it’s good enough, but I can’t watch tv.
Rigamarole, that's a word I haven't seen in awhile. Ambient relaxation videos are the best. Why can't you watch TV?
I can’t watch my tv programs if I am casting an ambient fireplace video at the same time on to the tv. I guess I could buy another tv and set it off to the side. One for the fireplace video and one for programs, movies, etc. But I only watch the fireplace videos around Christmas so the idea wouldn’t really be cost effective.

He recognises the packet I remember his first birthday took lovely pic of a sardine tin in box we got the b day paper off and he recognised the tin his tongue came out it was such a cute photo I've got some of his younger pics on my old lap top never use I'll have to turn it on lol it's in mam's wardrobe 😁

Hello cat sorry for late reply that's nice what you did for baby, pixie can't wear a collar tried he just pulled it off 🙄😼I was at library today managed to at last get the drawing of pixie Stippler did printed off I'm looking to get my own printer lost so many pics nice park one pix and family intended to print off at photo shop but lost them when my old phone shut down I'm doing a post for Stippler to thank him Xmas day and this be going on 😁😹

Pixie will be envious if you tell him we have had a Saturday salad tonight which included prawn cocktail, lettuce, cucumbers and swede and a fruit salad for dessert as we had a load of salad items in the fridge that need to be used up and no way are we throwing them out as we feel it's an absolute disgrace to throw food in the bin when lots are starving!
Lunchtime I really enjoyed a nice peaceful swim at the leisure centre as it was just me there at the 1pm session!

Sounds lovely but pix doesn't like them me neither I don't eat any seafood like that all them legs make me cringe I don't eat lobster or crab as they boil them.alive and drown crabs my nephew's dad used to have a boat and lobster and crab buiseness,I love salad and fruit salad, were having salmon and salad tomorror at mam's pixies going of course, no we don't waste food, or anything we give stuff to charity shops to be recycled and so someone can get a bargain or we sell stuff on selling sites if can, I'm looking forward to swimming again but need to get my hall laminate flooring laid soon too many drafts and it's getting me down not been nice, I'll say good night as I'm going to shut my eyes for a bit I've never stopped today had to rush to library as they closed earlier I didn't realise until I looked it up I've done lot walking today too managed to get the sunset before park closed 😁😹click to see full

When I worked at the pharmacy I had made myself a salad for lunch that had raw swede in it and one of the girls was like is that swede in the salad and yes it was.
I assure you I'm glad I'm not at that pharmacy anymore after the poor way they treated me all because my face didn't fit!
That was a valuable lesson in not going to that employer again!

Didn't know you could eat swede raw. Do you shred it? How does it taste?
Swede raw tastes bitter but not as bitter as raw white turnips.
A kipper is a smoked herring fish.

Oh I understand I had many jobs and left I thought sod it if I don't like the people I'm out of it my last job I mentioned before I kinda regret not having the job as I loved it passenger assistant for special needs kids just sat in car and escorting them to school it was rewarding but easy and I had time to do stuff with mam too, hours were couple hours morning and again on leaving time my dream job had great laugh with the drivers it was easy on my joints unlike other jobs I can't do now and even tho I left because of horrible bitchy people I was glad in the end I do believe fate as a way of sorting out life's destiny we need to follow our dreams and what we feel is right for us and stick with it I am going to apply for the passenger assistant job again and who knows if there desperate they may take me back after all I only left because I was tryner keep mam safe the virus was so bad back then and I don't regret that part of it, I let my intuition and conscience guide me 😊

I was disappointed when that pharmacy job didn't work out but I have accepted it now.
I was happy yesterday when I got told I hadn't got the jobs I had interviewed for last week as I reckon I would have hated them.
Another one is when those bailiffs came round and left their letter saying they were coming to evict at the end of May and I feel that when they did that by accident they stopped me from having made a big mistake by doing that as it had stopped me from going to that place I'm north road I was unsure about as their earliest date to have got us in was mid June but the bailiffs were coming to evict at the end of May.
The housing officer said to me did I want to book myself into a b and b and pursue the North Road place or did I want to accept this one and this place it was and I had asked her to put the offer in writing which she did do.
If I had gone with the North Road place I probably would still be at that b and b now!

Me too. It was a rainy day, so it was nice to be out around people. They had an adoption event going on too, so the store was packed.
Pet stores are fun. Most people are happy.
I hope some of those pets got adopted for Xmas
Fortunately, I have a cat allergy and couldn't get suckered by this face. Hidden I thought you might appreciate this cutie I saw at an adoption event.

I went to get pet food once and there was one cat left in the adoption section. I was so sad. I didn't need one, already had 3, but I started the adoption process and took her home the next day.
😆. I use to see that happen a lot when I volunteered at adoption events and fostered dogs.
She lived for 20 years. It's sad when people do the impulse adoption and then regret it.
It must have been sad to see some return to the shelters
I did see some returns. But I was volunteering before Covid, so it probably wasn't as bad as it is now. People really need to understand how traumatic it is for dogs to be given up at a shelter or rescue, even just one time. I'm not as familiar with cats.
My best friend, a pit bull mix, was returned to shelter several times before i discovered her. Now she is living large!
Sometimes it's about finding the right family. There were fosters I think about all the time and miss. Then there were fosters I was so happy to have found a good home. I had their leash, toys, food, and everything else packed and ready at the front door 😆. Like this little diva. She woke me up all night over things that could wait until the morning. She ended up in the best home for her. They loved her to the moon.

reminds me of going to a farmers market once for some chickens and came home with a rabbit …it was going to end up in a stew otherwise….i Let. It go free range in the garden and it bolted off into the sunset towards next doors veggie patch
I guess the difference is that the kitties go back to the fosters if they aren't adopted. At least that's what the rescue I volunteered at did. With the dogs-to-be-adopted, we walked them around the store during the adoption event. The cats, we couldn't really walk.

Just dread what he may bring in 😩in other house he once brought a big bird in rats frogs mice etc I was constantly prizing his mouth open to get them out I hope I'm not laid in bed and end up with him bringing me breakfast in bed LOL may not be toast 🙄🤩😹

Pixie used to go on a lead but it doesn't fit him now he didn't mind he had it when a kitty to get used to the move from mam's house to my other house and I took him down the tenfort to mam's on it he didn't need it in end he just followed me back n forth and walked in park with me of his choice, stayed near the tenfort rails tho so could slip through if a dog cought his eye off a lead 😊😹

My pix is obedient when we are out walking and he walks back from mam's house with me,I say come on and he comes, I don't like him going on his own but he turns up there sometimes he sits and begs and gives me his paw for treats or nice food usually mine 🙄😁😹
