Anxiety symptoms

hi all

Hope you’re all ok!!

Just curious as to what symptoms everyone gets/used to get when suffering with anxiety?

Mine have quite a range at the minute. Have felt really on edge about things, headaches, overthinking, chest tightness and a bit of appetite loss.

GP isn’t worried about chest as I have Cystic Fibrosis as well so I’m used to that, it’s just heightened when I’m anxious!

I get IBS like symptoms, I shake uncontrollably. I get nauseous when I need to make a phone call.

Hi Jharris,

This is an interesting question, because I know anxiety manifests itself in very unique ways.

For me, I get racing thoughts, racing thoughts, shallow breathing. The thoughts are usually worries about something terrible happening. Also add in difficult concentrating.

Also, I seem to get an acidic stomach the more anxious I feel. There seems to be a connection.

it is interesting to hear how differently it affects people! I definitely understand the racing thoughts that can soon spiral!

One of my traits was to google things, which only made it ten times worse! I’m working hard to stay off google now!!

I always have chest pain with other symptoms. Have done series of tests on my chest and all came back normal. It's improved now but still there.

Glad your tests came back normal! My chest is very sporadic and don’t worry as I have a lung condition

I have racing thoughts, a very uncomfortable feeling in my stomach, my body feels energized (so much that it is uncomfortable) and it is difficult for me to settle down, increased heart rate, insomnia and sometimes discomfort in my chest. I wish I would lose my sense of hunger because I think my appetite is increased when I'm anxious.

I get issues breathing, feeling like I'm going to die 😭. Fast heart rate, tight chest, dizziness. It's very scary when it hits. Because when it does, boy does it hit HARD

I deal with extreme chest tightness myself. Went to a heart doctor and they said everything’s okay. Said it’s anxiety. I am seeing a psychiatrist for it. Still no remedy for extreme chest tightness.
