Anticipation

I'm sitting in my car waiting for my dreaded dental appointment. I've had anxiety about the dentist since childhood, so bad that I went 22 years without seeing the dentist until I absolutely had to. I started anticipating this regular visit a week ago. My biggest fear is gagging and choking, which is how my panic attacks feel. Wish me luck! I know once I make it through I will be so relieved. Thanks for listening!

BlueAgave, I'm happy your visit went well. Most things we worry and anticipate

about never happen but can be just as stressful. Whenever I go to the dentist

I carry my relaxation cassette and headphones with me. I play it over and over

from the waiting room into the exam room. The whole time the dentist is

working on my teeth, I am entranced in a better place in time lol xx
