How do I get help for my anxiety when I have no money to pay for therapy/psychiatrist or medication. No job. No friends. my parents aren't supportive. I've been doing self help for years and I'm just going in circles. I just want to improve and be able to take care of myself.

For starters.. You're here. That counts for something.
.
Second, have you looked into any available support groups in your area?
A lot of them will give you a break if they realize that you do not have the means to pay for the group. (I am speaking from past experience here)
I am not sure what state health care programs/insurance that are available where you are (assuming you are in the US). I don’t have a job either but am fortunate to have Medi-Cal which is accepted by many Psychologist/Therapists and other Health Care professionals. You just got to do the leg work to reach out and ask if they have availabilities for that kind of insurance.
Sorry if this isn’t the case where you are at, but just a thought. Wish we had universal health care nation wide.
Sorry to hear this. But I know that (in australia) gp can give you certain sessions with psychologist/psychiatrist with no out of pocket expenses. I dont know the system in ur country. I understand self help too need support from others, someone close family or friends. You can reach us here on this platform anytime. I knw u must have been trying everything possible, but still if u can sit n write down wat u r doing as self help then try to change the way of doing it. May br writing down ur thoughts on paper n keep on reading it till the time it vent out completely frm ur emotional system. Long walks if possible for u. N i guess its vicious circle for everyone dealing with such things.... u go straight for few days then again start moving in circle.
N always remember u r not alone, there r plenty of ppl like u.... so just hold on ur breathe n re think wat kind of things u r doing to help urself n make changes in that, hope it works for u.
Sending positive vibes ur way. Take care💜
Many years ago, I got help from the United Way where we were living at the time. We had barely enough to live on and the UW put me in touch with a therapist, helped pay for the therapy, and had someone come check on me and my baby to make sure we had what we needed until I could cope again. I know it's harder today with the lack of available therapists and the growing demand, but see if the UW can give you a hand.
There are 12 step groups that were very helpful for me when I was first starting my recovery. Some of my best friends today I originally met 30 years ago at these meetings. There are Emotions Anonymous, Codependents Anonymous, Adult Children of Alcoholics, and Al-Anon groups. Some of these programs focus on codependency and others are support groups for family members of alcoholics, but they all are also very supportive to people with depression, anxiety and other psychiatric conditions, because a lot of these issues go hand-and-hand. Most of these 12 step groups can be located by contacting AA (no, you don't have to be an alcoholic to call them). You might also look up NAMI support groups in your area.
Hi, I hope things have gotten better since you wrote this. If not, Please know you're not alone. Please know that there is help, it's just we the public don't know about many of the help and opportunities our country, state, towns provide. I am in the process of writing a letter, that may never even get sent to anyone, to the newspaper or our governor or senator. None of us know whats available and frankly as bad off as the mental state is in america, there should be more awareness, better care, more clinics dedicated to mental health, and not just meds, im talking therapies, being shown how to care for yourself in the real world, help in securing jobs and housing. We, especially people who are alone because of one reason or another, do need help and there is nothing wrong with that. We are trying to recover, as we should. And we shouldn't have to feel bad about needing or asking for help, that's what they (everyone in charge) is there for.

Try doing some research, here is something to get you started. If you are worried about clicking the link, it basically says this
Each state has public psychiatric hospitals that provide acute (short-term) and long-term care to people without means to pay, those requiring long-term care, and forensic patients.
Partial hospitalization provides therapeutic services during the day, but not on a 24-hour basis.
It goes on to talk about what to expect and how to.
Please, look things up, and dont forget to breathe. You are not alone.
For great Zoom support groups try Live Well Foundation. I used them a couple years ago and they were very helpful; am considering returning to their groups. I recommended them to someone else on here and that person really liked them. Go to Live-Well Foundation. org for a list and schedule of their support groups. There is no cost. Also, call clinics in your area and ask if they or somewhere else has free counseling. And as others said definitely call NAMI and ask about resources. 1-800-950-6264. Or go to their website for resources.
