Anyone had a high d dimer without any blood clots.

hi everyone! Haven’t posted in a while but was curious has anyone had high d dimer levels but no sign of clots. I had horrible chest and arm pain today so eventually went to the ER. Thankfully as the time went by the symptoms died down. Blood work came back with a d dimer of 1.69 ug/ml when its normal limit is 0.44. Received a ct scan but no sign of clots. Doctor said there are other reasons it can be elevated but was shocked it was this high. Has this happened to anyone?

That certainly seems high based on what you wrote as the norm.

Didn't they explain other possible causes to you?

I think if that happened to me, the minimum, I would ask for a repeat blood draw. Maybe a follow up with your primary Dr?

Wishing you the best

yeah after the ct came back clear he just took my vitals again. He said even on your menstrual cycle it can become elevated but I am not. But I’m following up with my primary care Tuesday, thank you!
