Have had my week 4 medication review done today. As it’s only been 4 weeks they need to wait upto another 2 weeks to see if there has been any changes to my state of mind. The doctor said as I have not noticed anything yet I may have the dosage raised.

I've been on the Med "Merry-go-round".

There was a year in my life a while back where I was on (no joke) 20+ different meds. (very long story)

.

But what I can say is that I have a lot of personal experience with meds.

& On average, it can take 6-8 weeks for a med to really "kick in".

.

What I like about your post is that your doc seems to be taking the slow route.

I'm a huge fan of the slow route, because (in my opinion from personal experience) it's the best way to go with meds.

.

& For the lurkers out there reading this, always follow your doctor's advice, and never try messing with your meds on your own.

I’m very new to these meds, I am on lifelong medication for other things. But antidepressants is very new. I’m happy that it is going slowly so I know it’s being done correctly.

For me, and for most people that were in my previous support group, slow and steady is usually the best way to go. (that's just my opinion)

.

But (again) I like the way that you and your doc are handling this.

I understand what this is like. It took a very long time for my meds to be sorted out and become effective.

It was worth the side effects and long wait to get my quality of life back.

Wishing you the best
