Hello everyone, my experiences are rather new to me, just starting this year which has made it the hardest year of my life. Just a sudden strong wave of anxiety and intrusive thoughts, some days better than others, but always there. Sometimes I fear I'm just going to lose my mind.
haven't had many friends if any for years which has made me isolated which probably has something to do with all this so I'm just reaching out now maybe find people similar to what I'm going through or find ways to help.

Hi Luke! I am sorry that you have to deal with these new powerful emotions. I have had strong feelings of anxiety for the past 14 years and haven't lost my mind yet 😜. Is there something that happened this year that triggered this? I know graduating and moving out, providing for myself and now my family is a major cause of anxiety for me. Root causes are great to find and work on. There are loads of great therapists, books, and online resources now. I like Dr. David Burns work, and his book, "Feeling Great". He also does a Feeling good podcast
Thank you for your kind reply. There was a trip I took with my family that started it all, but I'm still trying to figure it all out with my therapist. I will check out the book and podcast you suggested. Thanks again and God bless
Hi Luke, friends are hard to Make and Keep when you are feeling depressed. People rarely understand and then there is the anxiety that just suddenly happens. You -we tend to isolate which is hard on your social life and social skills. You are not alone. Most of the people struggle with similar issues. If you start spending more and more time in bed or on the couch, I suggest setting a goal, something you can do from start to finish ie. change the sheets on your bed, do the dishes and wipe the counters. Go outside and let the breeze blow the overwhelming feelings off you. ....
