how do you get through your day?
Hi Horsiepurple and Welcome..
I get through each day with doing Meditation and Breathing exercises.
After years of struggling with Anxiety and Agoraphobia, I wanted something
more than medication and therapy to overcome the physical symptoms.
In time and doing research on YouTube, I found that Meditation put me into
a place of peace for a while. I asked myself, what if I did this daily, 2 to 3 times
a day. And so I tried it. I Meditate and Breath first thing upon awakening in
the morning, a short 5 min meditation midafternoon and then once again before
bed at night (Meditation/Breathing)
I have found the our subconscious mind absorbs the positive thoughts it hears.
The more it hears positivity the less negativity stays around. It's made quite a
difference in not having to deal with morning anxiety. It does take time to retrain
our brain and the habits we've picked up over the years. xx
Hi Horsie - sometimes I struggle to get through the day, too. Especially when my depression rears its ugly head and the activities I used to enjoy no longer feel fulfilling. When I can tell I’m slipping into this mode I slow down, and try my best to make the world smaller. For example, just focus on getting through today. Don’t worry about what tomorrow brings, just do your best to find something in the moment to help - light your favorite candle, put on your fav music, sometimes I just sit at my window and watch the birds. Calm your mind with soothing gentle things that make you feel content. And remind yourself that this feeling will pass.
If you haven’t already, it’s good idea to see a psychiatrist or therapist. I wouldn’t be here without my Zoloft.
