Don’t actually get this - surely we are the sum of past selves, how can we be different people in the present? We can try to be different versions of ourselves I suppose but past selves surely encroach at times?

New person every day, growing learning. not one cell of your body is the same as it was 7 years ago. so every seven years you have new body,, your mind is not the same, neuro pathways form in your brain with each new learned skills.

Wow, amazing - have read about neuroplasticity and about how the brain can adapt/ learn new things etc. So how come I couldn’t learn Italian?! Tried ever so hard but Duolingo( free online course) was beyond me and found the wee owl which was so encouraging initially turned nasty so gave up…fancy learning something new that doesn’t require too much effort(sigh)….
