1 month with lexapro

hey everyone is been 1 month with lexapro I stared with 5mg now is day 10 with 10mg, I notice this past two days my body from inside manifested coldness .. and yesterday for the first time I experience thoughts of no want to live and continue.. I’m not worry just I want to know if th ose are normal I don’t see the dr till next week, I am praying so I know God is helping me 🥰 please let me know thanks guys

hi Anmu, I switched to Lexapro about a year ago. I almost gave up on it. It took a good 6-8 weeks for me to really feel the benefits. Sorry, I know this is not what you were hoping to hear. But everyone is different and reacts differently to each medication. I would try to call your Doc’s office, and at least you could possibly speak to a nurse. Maybe they could add something for a short time until the Lexapro starts working. There’s also the possibility that this just isn’t the right med for you. I know how frustrating the whole med thing is. Waiting and waiting, with no improvement. I feel for you right now and have definitely been where you are. Call the doc’s office; it might make you feel better just to tell them how you’re feeling. Best wishes and hang in there! 👍

thanks. I had lexapro back in 2020 but totally forgot how was the side effects, I will call thanks tho

Definitely reach out to your doctor! There is a very real danger of suicide with all antidepressants, and you do not want anything that makes you feel worse!

I know that suicidal thoughts are listed as a side effect when you first start taking an antidepressant. I agree with everyone else and think that you should reach out to your doctor because maybe this isn't the right medication for you.
