I’m having a very bad day. I posted and deleted this thread because I started looking at it wrong then decided it’s not such a bad idea… to have goals… no matter what type of day it is, and if we don’t get them all done it’s ok it’s just a guideline.
Yes It's ok to have goals. We just don't want to use negative self talk if we don't complete things. We can always try again tomorrow.
My goal today was to be the best puppy sitter ever. HA! I was here for an hour or so and he chewed a throw pillow. Oops
❤️🐬
I think that you're a list of goals is excellent. The only thing I would add to it is cognitive behavioral therapy.
It's not a bad idea to write down your goals and how you would plan to achieve them. Also, keep in mind that you do not actually have to accomplish every goal for it to be a good day. Do not make yourself feel guilty if you fail to achieve a goal, but rather put it on your list for tomorrow and keep working on it.
Thank you. Yes no feeling guilty instead let it be for tomorrow.
What type of things do you practice and like the most when it comes to cognitive behavioral therapy? When I talk with my therapist all we focus on is what is on my mind that I need to vent get out of my mind.
The things I would recommend in order to do cognitive behavioral therapy are these: first, get a copy of the book Feeling Great by David Burns. It will teach you how to do cognitive behavioral therapy for yourself and provide you with various tools and homework exercises that you can do on your own to help yourself to feel better. One of the most crucial things is what is called the daily thought record, and doing this every day will help you to reevaluate your thoughts and help you to think more realistically and less negatively. If you do not want to write them down on paper, there are a number of applications in the app store for cognitive behavioral therapy, which help make it a little easier to do.
In addition, I would continue to do the other things you mentioned in your post as they will also help you to feel better and will supplement the cognitive behavioral therapy.
If you have any further questions, please let me know.
Drink water. Set a timer to remember to drink more.
Get some laundry done.
Try to comfort myself.
So great, beautiful. I’m trying to comfort myself right now. I made some bad decisions today and I’m paying for it. How is your comforting yourself going so far?
I've got an electric heating pad I laid down with. I almost fell asleep it felt so good. This weather is so screwy. The roads have been closed for a week from the blizzard. Next, it's going up to the 50s. Is it just me, the up and down has me down.
Tomorrow you'll do better. That's how it seems to go usually. Like you said -- I'll screw it up -- stay open to reasons for gratitude that haven't happened yet.
Very nice goals. I have read that if you are always being comfortable, then you will not grow. Get out of your comfort zone whenever possible, then you get stronger!
