I am craving steak and shrimp, a dessert with nuts and garlic knots. All things I haven't been able to eat since I broke my tooth. The permanent bridge will be in at the end of the month so I will probably put on a few pounds during Christmas and the New Year.
I would like to be able to imagine a food I'd like for today without being frightened. Sometimes people here name things that meant love when I was little, and I remember it being good.
my residual college based craving is stouffer french bread pizza. those were hard years when they changed the sauce. But I swear they used to have fennel seed on them too. so now I add fennel and they are awesome. I can't do it as I had a fab burger on my b day and amazing fish and chips on Sat along with ice cream. Pretty much blew it for this week.
It was a lot of drama...The changed it for a a year or two and pissed off all their fans. Then they put it it in the frozen dinner section instead of the pizza section where other french bread pizzas are. AND made it like the microwave optional ones that are totally gross. They eventually had to acquiesce. It was a lot like "new coke" in the 80s. Now I want one bad!
Had to google that one. 👀 Fancy, but not here in the states. 😩😁 A tub lover…..I can’t go for that.(Hall and Oates). I bet you never gain an ounce. Keep that figure for Ms. Theron. 😄
Fritters made with black eyed beans, spices and herbs. The dipping is green chili, lemon and salt Mama would make them growing up and the household would devour it.
Traditionally it's just a round ball. The shape doesn't have to come out perfectly. I'm sure you could do it. Soak beans for hours and blend the ingredients. You could use anything as a scoop that is a little larger than a table spoon . Another option is to use your hands and scoop the thick batter then gently drop it in the frying pan.
My mom would make a different version of the chili sauce. She would blend tomatoes, garlic, a lil onion, green chili, lime, salt and tamarind( seeds removed and soaked for awhile)
You could always look around to see if there is a Somali restaurant nearby or ask any East African ones if they make them.
It doesn't look like I have a Somali restaurant near me. There's some Ethiopian restaurants, but their food looks different from your dish. I should try out an African restaurant.
