Childhood trauma changes the whole path we walk. Some of us crash and burn before we even know what the impact was.

We are left to pick up the prices and this list will only come into play at that time.

Yep…..What I think, which can be construed as 1984 ish, is that people who want children should be screened and tested first. But that’s an inconceivable idea. No pun intended.

Amazes me you have a whole screening process to get a dog.

Well we pick up pieces as we go. At birth we need our basic needs met. We do learn lessons as we grow through childhood. We learn to adapt to the fact that we are being abused, we develop a set of unhealthy coping skills, we learn life isn't our own because we have to people please to survive, we learn we are not worthy. Oh I could go on and on. But it's time to exercise.

Yep.... for me, it's been years of 'Un-learning' all the crap dumped on me from dysfunctional parenting, and others who contributed to the abuse. Some people should just not be parents...they don't deserve to be, the abuse and neglect leaving lifelong scars we are left to try and live with.
