back to being obsessed about my heart rate

I’m so use to it being in the high 80s and 90s even in the 100s at the doctors while I’m sitting there but recently been noticing it being like mid to low 70s and even down to the 60-60s especially when im getting ready to sleep. Was laying here on the couch and felt it and it was like 72 during the middle of the day wasn’t doing anything but laying here and it freaked me out I guess because I’m not really use to it being low just sitting or laying here so of course I go to thinking something is wrong. I’m hydrated and sometimes too hydrated because I’ll be peeing clear. Then I had a doctor make a comment we should start you on a beta blocker because of your heart rate being in the 100s-120s and having high bp when you’re at the doctors I’m like but when I’m at home especially at night my heart rate is in the 60s to 70s when I had the heart monitor for 24 hours it showed my heart rate ranged from 60 to 120. Like my heart rate does go up when I get up and move but will go back down when I sit down. Idk I’m also worried the lower heart rate is the reason I’m tired sometimes. But is 60s and 70s really that bad.

I use to be obsessed with my heart rate before I started going through all this back in March but I use to just feel it to see how it felt never ever got an actual number so. I’m just tired of obsessing and worrying

Adam, that's a great h/r when you are relaxing and not doing much physical activity.

It means your heart is working at a leisurely but productive pace and is not stressed out. :) xx

It takes a while to create the habit of telling our subconscious we are okay and actually believing it. Until then our brains are looking out for us when our fears are liars.

Hello. I actually tend to get what they call white coat syndrome . I’m nervous about having to see the doctor so my heart rate is going up because I’m nervous that I’m at the doctors office!!! Most of the time normally my heart rate is rather low. And that’s actually not bad, as long as it isn’t too low. If you’re not doing a lot and just lying down then it makes sense if it’s on the low side.

HR in the 60-70's range at rest is really good. Of course when you're active it will go up. It's when it stays up that it is concerning.

No 60's - 70 is perfect. I love that for you especially when you say your pulse can spend time in the 120's.

Hi, is this your PCP, perhaps you need to see a cardiologist. I had heart rate problems and arrhythmias from childhood till my fifty’s. I kept thinking it was anxiety but it was actually atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia. After several cardiac ablations, aversions and now medication I haven’t had problems for over a year thankfully !

my pulse is in the 60s and 70s while at rest. Picks up in the 80s when I'm awake and walking around the house. Maybe in the 100s when I'm in Target 😂

Lowest I got my heart rate to 62 once but that was through meditation 🧘‍♀️

Also doctors at least thr good ones will tell you low blood pressure numbers well there isnt an exact number. Its basically what works best for you. Like mine was once 97/64. Kind of low. But why wasn't I rushed off to the hospital? Because I was up and walking and talking. Until I actually experience something like fainting spells or dizziness then its a problem. But if your good then your good. Don't fix that ain't broke. Sometimes low blood pressure can be a simple fix. Drink plenty of water and eat something salty. HBP can be due to weight, diet etc. But if you wore a heart monitor once your doctor probably say it go down once you left his office.

If you feel something is wrong with your heart you can ask your doctor to see a cardiologist. And get a work up done on your heart. Also explain to the doctor that you have sever anxiety. Though I think you msy have white coat syndrome. Which is you get overly anxious at the doctor's office because you pretty much except the worse. Which causes your HR and BP to shoot up. And pf course all that goes away when you get home.

I think 60s and 70s are more normal resting heart rates. But, ask your doctor.

It's normal for our heart rate and blood pressure to vary throughout the day. What you are dealing with when you go to the doctor's office and it's up is called "white coat syndrome" and is very common also especially among those who are predisposed to anxiety.
