Music is my go to, but when I get overstimulated I try to find a quiet space close my eyes and try to guide the anxiety through my body. Letting myself know this isn’t the first time and more then likely not the last. I’ve learned that for me pointing out the anxiety/panic symptoms will help me calm down slowly, because as scary as it is they are going to pass. I have many diff panic attacks, so for me knowing how my body is reacting will tell me what I need to do in order to regain myself.
Normally get triggered at work by certain people. I haven’t tried music to calm down but will take my earphones with me if I can get away with it.
I am a manager in the food service sept. at a mental state facility, so it’s hard to get away with listening to music, but I do keep a pair of headphones on me so on my break I’ll pop them in and try to center myself. I also have some fidget toys on my desk that come in very handy.
you are very welcome! I hope it helps.
