Hey, just wanted to say I’m nearsighted, so I need them for everything but reading. However right now I have contact lenses too, and enjoy not having to wear glasses all the time. However, I don’t mind wearing them sometimes. I think in some ways you actually look smarter if you wear glasses!!!
I've been wearing them for reading since my teens. Back in those days, ( the 70s) they were a definite no no looks wise. I started wearing them all the time in my early 40s and now I don't care - I like them and they can be quite a fashion statement. A bit of a pain if I'm wearing a face mask cos they get steamed up🙄
I was at the opticians the other day and was a bit disappointed when I didn't need a new prescription - I was looking forward to some new glasses lol. Vain or what 😁🤗
Yes! My varifocals are so thin and lightweight.I remember the NHS ones when I was a kid - blue for boys, pink for girls. They were hideous. Thankfully by the time I started wearing them there was a bit of a choice.
I was very short sighted and wore glasses full time from 11 -50. I always hated it and one day when I was 49 I suddenly had enough and made a vow I would get my eyes corrected through laser treatment.
That was 18 years ago now and was the best thing I had ever done. I was told I looked 10 years younger! The first time I was out in the rain and could see where I was going it was a revelation, and worth every penny just for that moment.
I have to wear glasses for reading only coz that is caused by weak muscles at the side of the eye and is very common past 40 ish. One optician told me I would probably have to wear them full time again one day as long sightedness gets worse as you age too and I said no way am I ever wearing glasses again full time. Ever....
I like them to be honest because it covers my baggy eyes when i am really tired. and my hijab prevents it from falling off most of the time . the annoying thing is when they are dusty so i always clean them . another annoying thing is that sometimes my glasses don't stay in place and i have to poke them back in 🤣. I am Far sided i sometimes wish that i was allowed to wear contacts 😊
