Anxiety is crippling

I stopped taking sertraline per my psychiatrist's recommendation. But lately, I'd been having anxiety attacks again. What to do? I don't feel like going back to the doctor again. I don't have any support from my own family even from my partner. They don't understand what I'm feeling and been through everytime attacks set in. Now,they see me as a liability.

Do you take other medication for the anxiety, or did the psychiatrist offer other suggestions? I think medication has its place, but I think therapy and social support can do more good long term. Are there others (friends, coworkers, neighbors) who you trust and can help provide some support? I would also suggest things like meditation, deep breathing, and exercise (even just going for a walk). As someone who's been struggling with anxiety for a number of years, I think the more tools you have in your arsenal to get through it the better, but ultimately I think it's good to try different things and see what works best for you.

In my opinion, go back to your medicine. I am saying this because it happened to me before although I am using a different SSRI inhibitor (Seroxat). I tried to cut down on the dosage but panic attacks returned back more aggressively. I talked to my doctor, he asked me to increase the previous dosage from 12.5 to 20mg and only then I started to feel better.

I heat started a new medication and I’m feeling the same as you cuz my hubby doesn’t understand how I’m feeling either. Just thinking I can stop. I don’t know what to do but I need to talk to someone. I’m here if you need someone. I’ll even give you my cell to text if you want to.

There are many medications for depression and Anxiety. have a word with your doctor or even a pharmacist.
