Hi Justkell, I'd like to Welcome you to this caring and supportive forum. You will find that there are many others feeling the same symptoms as you.

These past couple years have prompted a fear, an anxiousness as well as a

sadness to our lives. None of us ever expected anything like this. I think that

we all feared the unknown and so our lives changed drastically with Covid...

There were many of us who already had issues before this all came about. This

just added to our stresses.

You took a big step forward tonight in seeking understanding and friendship.

We are a world wide virtual family of friends who just happen to experience the

same thing.

You have found a 24/7 safe site to be on. We are but a message away whenever

you are ready to share your journey. I care :) xx

Thank you Agora1 for the supportive words. You hit the nail on the head by saying some of us had issues prior to Covid-19. Mine were just a little annoying, but jumped center stage with the lockdown and subsequent restrictions. My anxiety went from the normal situations that cause stress to 24/7 anxiety. I have found that with understanding the physiology of anxiety, acceptance of your symptoms ( not fighting them ), time, and patience, your body will definitely heal itself. I am sure you have heard that approach before. Anyways, thank you so much for the welcome to the group. I am sure with all the support and advice that other members provide to each other, we will all come over to that other side of joy, smiles, and happiness.

Hi Justkell, you sound like you might have read Dr. Claire Weekes' book on"Hope & Help for Your Nerves". Her therapy being Acceptance, not fighting the

feeling, allow it to float past you as it will eventually leave on it's own.

She speaks the truth as you do as well. I know because many years ago I suffered

from overwhelming anxiety as well as agoraphobia.. Through practicing what she

preached and actively working on myself, I beat anxiety and left it on the curb lol

Now, I am here to pass my success forward along with others on this site who do the same. You are one step ahead of those just experiencing anxiety because you understand how this plays with the mind, allowing us to think we have no control.

And yet we do. I'm glad you are with us new friend :) xx

You are right Agora1. Dr. Claire Weekes. Face..accept…float..and let time pass. Also a book titled “At Last a Life”, by Paul David. A person who suffered from anxiety and panic attacks for 10 years. I liked what Paul David said that there is no miracle cure out there, the cure lies within you. Because, you begin to get better when you STOP trying to get better. Give up the daily fight you have with yourself and accept the feelings as best you can, and let time pass. That is how you heal. Same approach as Dr. Weekes, just different terminology. The daily battle just keeps you in the negative loop. Adding more fuel to the fire. I really liked our responses to each other. Take care
