I've have dealt with my anxiety quite well over last few month thanks to my therapist and my new way of thinking of them. But something strange happened this morning . I was driving to work and i was having a great time listening and car dancing to music. I felt good! But out of no where my eyes start twitching and then the whole process of panic happen to my body. My mind was fine, but I was getting alittle worries that my hands and legs are going numb but then I was like "oh wait.. is this a panic attack?" So I pulled over and yes my body was going numb and cramping tgen I wanted to throw up(the usually stuff). It was over in about 10 minutes and I was fine again. I was in total control of my mind but not my body. I was able to drive the rest of the way but after getting to work, I am filled with sadness and fear because it happen out of no where. I mean I think I know why it happened but I thought i was handling it better but no. I'm left defeated and half way to tears at work. I'm very worries other things are going to trigger it again. And I want to go home but driving is a trigger for my anxiety in itself so I'm very overwhelmed here. I dont know how to carry on with my day. My boss know thank God but I'm filled with i think shame and guilt and fear now. What can I tell myself to make me feel better.

I am curious what the trigger was that happened so fast. I don't know if it would have been just driving. Perhaps something while you were driving that came into your line of vision. Or maybe something in the song you wee listening to. There could be numerous things that triggered it. Go over it in your mind what was happening a few minutes before it came about. And if it has happened before, compare it to this time. It could be a certain color or certain sound. You need someone that is trained to help you figure it out and give you the skills you need to avoid or cope with it. I know it can overwhelm you when you are in a panic attack. Sometimes re-training yourself is the key. I have "white coat" syndrome. I love my doctor and staff but my blood pressure sky rockets and I start the palpations like I'm going to have an attack every time I go to the doctor. She knows this and after a couple of minutes of relaxing breaths, I go to almost normal. This happens every time I go even if it's just a wellness check. Her nurse waits till after the deep breathing to take my vitals. We sit and calmly talk about other things while I breath then I'm sorta ok. You need to find the trigger and the coping skill to overcome it. I do wish I could help.

Yeah. I took notes to give to my therapist because it could very well be driving. I'm mostly comfortable driving these days. But someday are more difficult than others.

Panic attacks are chemical. Your body over reacts to something that is physical. Anti anxiety meds won’t work because they don’t work on the part of the brain that causes the panic. There is a significant difference between a panic attack and an anxiety attack. In fact, anti anxiety meds can actually make panic attacks worse! I’ve suffered both for way too many years. Alprazolam has helped me with the panic attacks, although you must keep in mind, it can be habit forming, so that is a doctor discussion. Mindfulness can help with anxiety attacks. If you have both, probably avoid the anxiety meds. This is from personal experience and a lot of research. Good luck to you!

Umm ok? I don't take medication for this. I've had bad experience with them but thanks I guess, for the info

I get twitches and spasms while panicing too. Some food suppliments like magnesium help. Also it's a panic attack it's normal to feel fear. Remember it's fear unlocking the attack not the attack the fear. Tho it's scary. Really i have this symphtom too and some suppliments work good like i said magnesium, calcium, zinc, ginko leaves, valerian root, chocolate, mint,. Smeling lavender essense and citrus essense. Grounding. Progressive muscles relaxation. Massages. Yoga. Good blood pressure and cicrulation. Mine are really bad and it impackts me. But ask your doctor first. It's normal and you're not alone
